In the same way we applied textures to elements in the last course - we can also apply textures to background papers using the layer styles palette.

Stripes My Way

For the last paper we are going to use the pattern fill to make a gingham or checked paper .

Lastly we will make a 2 coloured check pattern with texture-

Lesson 2 - Tying bows and threading ribbons

thread our ribbons through some buckles .

Now you have 2 buckles ready - lets thread some ribbons through them

The second half of this weeks lesson revolves around making knots and bows.

Lesson 3 - Buttons Beads and Baubles

The first thing we will make is a basic button shape and create a plastic layer style.

There are various ways we can add a "lip" to the edge of the button

If you want to create your own wooden layer style you could take a photograph of some nice wood grain ( your dining table for instance)

Now we will move on to beads and pearls.

Now we have our pearl layer style we can create a string of pearls really easily using the skills in brush making that we learned in the first course.

Lastly we are going to create a nice set of translucent beads .

Lesson 4- Lets see through it!!

In this the last lesson of this course we are going to look at glass and water styles.

Lets start by creating a basic glass layer style.

We need to create another style for using on dark backgrounds

Here I will show you how to "splash" your page with water

Lets play with our style some more now and create some bubbles

For our final task for this course - lets put together lots of the skills we have learned in both courses to make a metal photo frame with a glass cover.
